Trachea: The chest discomfort may come from chest wall or from irritation/inflammation of the trachea(windpipe). The other symptoms suggest viral upper respiratory tract infection but could also be due to allergies. The more you cough,the more you irritate the trachea and therefore you may want to take a cough suppresant like robitussinDM to quiet a dry hacking cough. See your MD if worsening cough,fever,
