Small area on soft pallet, looks similar to canker sore, more elliptical shaped though. dentist says a cut. if this were sign of cancer would it grow?

Two week follow up: If it were cancerous it will not heal. A cut on the other hand would. A good rule of thumb is if a lesion does not heal in two weeks then you should seek out professional help.
