Ortho: An orthodontist is a dentist that continued with dental school for several years specializing in orthodontics (braces). They may only limit their practice to orthodontics. A general dentist can have a wide scope of dental procedures including orthodontics. The general dentist must take hours of continuing education classes yearly. They can learn orthodontics and care for their patients.
