Not leg length: this can be cartilage - there are different types of cartilage in the knee. This could be due to grinding of the kneecap- called chrondromalacia patella. In the knee there is also meniscus cartilage that can slip or be torn. Finally there is cartilage at the end of the bones of the knee that can be injured by arthritis like Rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. Your physician will help clarify

That you need an: Examination to determine if the leg length discrepancy is causing altered kinetics such that your hamstrings are tighter on one side. The heel wedge and physical therapy should help. Stretching and core strengthening will be critical.
