Virus: Acute Bronchitis is usually caused by a virus. So the antibiotics would not have really helped. Generally, symptoms usually resolve within 4 weeks - although a post-infectious cough might remain for a few weeks longer. Might want to talk to your doctor about a bronchodilator (steroid) and a cough syrup to help with the symptoms especially if you're having a hard time sleeping. Hope that helps!
