You can do both: A\s together it will help accelerate your weight loss. Also setting up a good exercise routine will serve you well in the future, as a caloric restriction to 1200 cals/day isn't sustainable over the long run and mostly should be a way to "kick start" weight loss. Realize, it may be tough to exercise at time due to some fatigue related to low caloric intake.
