Unclear: A VP shunt does not have a pulse.I am not sure why your pulse is so fast but could be caffeine or anxiety. The head hurting needs to be investigated if very severe. do you have migraines? You have not mentioned the MRI results or how long ago it was done. If this is severe you need to call your neurologist for further eval.
