Is it normal for someone with vp shunt to feel pressure inside head? (sometimes like a pulsing throb for a few seconds when standing up or something)

Yes: But you should check with the neurologist and neurosurgeon to make sure the shunt is functioning appropriately.

Yes: Pressure fluctuations during position changes etc are common in shunts. Often, once the shunt has been in for a long time, symptoms may improve.
