CT Scan is next test: The mass seen on the chest xray most likely is a pnuemonia, After 2 weeks of antibitoics, a Chest CT scan would be the best test to figure out if it is a tumor, whether primary or metastatic. It may also be an atypical pneumonia such as fungal or TB. Please schedule a follow up with your lung doc.

No need: To wait. COPD requires specific treatment and the large mass requires further evaluation.

See doctor ASAP: A large mass in the lung needs evaluation right away. Suggest seeing your primary care physician, who can discuss the X-ray findings with the radiologist and perhaps order additional testing while arranging for consultation with the pulmonary specialist.

Follow up: I would suggest a follow up with Pulmonary. They will obtain a CT scan and samples will be sent to Pathology and Microbiology. She should have a TB test as part of the evaluation.
