The sides of my knee hurt the moment i stand and feel like a brace being pushed into the sides. knee also sometimes cracks/pops when walking. mcl/lcl?

Possibly: You are right in saying that the medial and lateral collateral ligaments run on the inside and outside of the knee and they can cause pain. But usually this would only occur if you had injured them and it is fairly uncommon to injure both. If you are having trouble, consider being seen where an exam and possibly an MRI can pinpoint the problem.
