Yes it's normal: Steroids which is the most powerful anti inflammatory agent given locally at the site of the inflamed nerve roots .this reduces the swelling of the nerve and creates more wiggle room for the nerves.Steroids are usually tagged with local anesthetic which causes transient weakness . It should go away in a day or two. if it persists contact the injection doctor
