Most likely: if not then have a follow up visit with your orthodontist.

Possibly: It depends on how far the tooth has moved and what type of retainer it is. Your orthodontist should have scheduled a post-retainer follow up visit with you. They are the best person to address this question. In the mean time make sure you wear your retainer to maximize the possibility that it will be able to move your tooth.

See yr orthodontist: A retainer helps to make your teeth stable in their new positions. In the first month after the braces are removed, the risk of relapse is very high. See your orthodontist for evaluation and retainer adjustment if needed.

Maybe: it shifted from NOT wearing your retainer. likely if you start wearing right away, while the first couple of days may be a little discomforting from the pressure, the retainer will likely fit well enough to help push the tooth back into place (working like as if it were an invisalign tray).

Maybe: When my patients have their braces removed, I recommend they wear their retainers 24/7 for the 1st 4-6 months. After that time period, I recommend night time wear indefinitely after that. Teeth will move, that is how orthodontists can straighten teeth. w/o retainers, there is no way to maintain your new corrected occlusion. If you can get the retainers in and are tight, it may move your teeth back

Probably: Try wearing your retainer 24/7for a week. It probably will help. If it does not do the trick your orthodontist can help get it back in place.

Likely...yes: Be very careful to wear your retainers every night. Contact your dentist quickly if the trays don't fit. It may be a very minor correction to get you back to perfect. Commit to wearing them the rest of your life!
