If someone gets stents during a cardiac catherization, will they be prescribed aspirin, plavix, (clopidogrel) or both? if both do the same thing then why both?

Antiplatelet: Dual antiplatelet treatment is standard of care based on multiple studies,Aspirin works by the prostaglandin pathway,clopidogrel(& others) work via the P2Y12 receptor pathway,you need at least both pathways,there are numerous other pathways to platelet activation,
