Is there any alternative to drinking the highlighter contrast for an mri for crohn's disease?

No: The oral contrast used helps to show the small bowel. It is difficult to see it otherwise. There are no alternatives to drinking it as the MRI already uses IV contrast as part of the procedure in addition to the oral.
