Not likely: Adrenergic drugs are used to manage sympathetically maintained pain. They act either presynaptically on the neuron or postsynaptically on receptors located on the effector organ. They may affect receptors that are stimulated by norepinephrine (NE) or epinephrine, or interrupt the release of NE from noradrenergic neurons.
