Lyrica (pregabalin) is different: a relatively new anticonvulsant. Lyrica (pregabalin) binds itself strongly with alpha2-delta subunits of calcium channels and increase GABA activity in the CNS.. It is widely used for both paroxysmal and continuous neuropathic pain conditions such as postherpetic neuralgia and diabetic neuropathy as well as fibromyalgia.
