Had hip pain 5 yrs.doctors finally took mri,found labrum tear but not recommending surgery bc of arthritis and possible fai. how can i relieve my pain?

Stretching: labrum tears are a new diagnosis that is over diagnosed because of the new MRI scanners. Most people do not have surgery unless a career in athletics is in your immediate future. you failed to name the joint involved ... however balanced stretching of the muscles around the joint, yoga, and fish oil are good starts

There are surgical options for FAI and you might go for a second opinion from a hip specialist. In the meantime rehab aka PT may be helpful along with strengthening the muscles around the hip. Good luck!
