Whatever she wants: She should supplement with folic acid and B comlex vitamins. She should avoid iron supplementation. In the US food stuffs are often fortified with iron and should be avoided. In reality, unless one eats boxes of cereal a day, even with a increased iron absorption state such as thalasemia major it is hard to absorb iron and her major iron source is the blood transfusions.
