The rule of thumb: Anyone with a suspected concussion should be seen by a doctor. For pain, take over-the-counter Tylenol (acetaminophen) and see ER doctor for CT or MRI to rule out bleed.

Non steroidals: Best to start with non steroidal antiinflammatories such as tylenol, (acetaminophen) Ibuprofen or naprasyn.

Agree with Dr Singer: But, better yet is tincture of time. If an uncomplicated concussion, you should fully return to normal within 4-6 weeks.
