Been constipated for 5 days. took exlax at the recommended dosage yesterday and again today. no results but forced gas. would a higher dose be bad?

Miralax/Peri-Colace: You might want to try Peri-Colace, as this has a stool softener which might help - since it sounds like you're quite constipated. If you have a fecal impaction, see your doctor straight away. Also, if you take chronic pain medications - talk to your doctor as an ongoing treatment might be good to prevent this from happening in the future. Hope that helps!
