Spit up or drooling?: Spit up and drooling are common in babies. Spit up is caused by mild GE reflux. Drooling is caused by excessive salivation which accompanies early stages of teething. Both are insignificant if the baby is gaining weight and if there is no breathing problem

Teething: Babies develop their salivary glands and start teething around 3 months. This causes a lot of clear drool.
