Get a colonoscopy: A colonoscopy is a more complete test and he would receive sedation.

Hematochezia: Hematochezia is bloody stools. He would benefit from sigmoidoscopy and may need a full colonoscopy as well to determine the cause of his hematochezia. The GI specialists usually use conscius sedation for the procedure.
