Atelectasis: That is a big fancy doctor word for tiny areas of collapse of the air sacs in the lungs. It is very common after surgeries, etc, when it hurts to take a deep breath. But it can also happen to normal healthy people if they don't give their lungs a work out. Usually, during the day, we take some deep breaths, sigh, cough, etc. This may not be happening sitting at video games - needs to get active!

? exetional asthma: This can be a sign of exertional asthma by being too intensively involved with games he is playing. See a pulmonologist or lung specialist.
