Possible: Severe pain can cause your body to do some strange things. If you have not taken any antibiotics to help clear it up then see a doc for verification of the diagnosis and get the meds. It is physically impossible to swallow your tongue, but it can relax or swell enough to obstruct your throat. A swollen tongue can occur from allergy to meds as well. Talk to a doctor about this, soon.

Try netti pot: Or saline nasal rinses. Rinsing your sinus daily may reduce sinusitis and reduce your intake of antibiotics. Talk to your doctor.
