Sun: 1: Sunburn cream in summer. 2: Over the counter vitamin D in bottles of 100 capsules. Comes in 1000 or 2000 units per capsule. Not expensive. Take one capsule a day.

Hard to do: although vitamin D is manufactured in the skin from sun exposure, there is only a limited amount that can be made per day by this mechanism, and it is typically not enough for most people to attain the recommended levels of greater than 30. Unprotected sun exposure also contributes to skin cancer. It is therefore recommended that the better way to get enough vitamin D is through food or supplement
