Yes: Pain is usually an indicator that something is causing damage to the body. You may have weak ligaments on the outside of the ankles causing the pain. There are other possibilities as well. You should have this evaluated by a physician. It can likely be treated with non-invasive measures (exercise therapy, etc.).
