Are kids with autism overly cautious or usually have no fear?

Can be both: Their brains perceive things different than yours or mine. So they may be afraid of the feel of a feather or the smell of chinese food, but not sense at all the pain of a cut or hard whack on the head that causes a bruise. Each child with autism is very individual, so it is really tough to make broad generalizations about how they sense and perceive things. But they definitely have likes/dislikes.

Either.: Children with autism are frequently very rambunctios and unaware of their surroundings. They do not process information in the same way that others do, especially language skills. Even when warned of danger, they may still rush into the street indicating no fear of the situation. Other children with autism are very cautious and rarely wander from their area of familiarity.
