Elevate mattress: Babies with acid reflux can choke if laid flat on their backs. Elevating the crib mattress so that the head is above the stomach (30 degrees or so) can reduce this. Sometimes parents are advised to prop babies on their right side, but care must be taken to be sure baby can't roll into the face by adding chest and back support. This position should only be used under the guidance of your doctor.
