SEVERE PAIN: Pain that is truly 10 (no such thing as 10+) requires immediate evaluation. Pain rated at 10 implies worst imaginable (i use the description of chainsaw removal of leg without anesthesia). If your pain is this severe, you are not functioning and need to be seen in er. Something is severely wrong—aneurysm, heart attack, vascular problem, intra-abdominal infection, etc.
