Migraine possibility: A flickering or cracked glass appearing peripheral visual disturbance that typically shimmers, builds then disappears, is likely a visual aura of migraine. It may be accompanied by a headache, nausea, or even vomiting. Often after it resolves, you feel back to normal. Your eye exam is normal. As a 1st time occurrence, generally a neurological exam is offered, particularly if unusual symptoms/pain.

Flashes of light: In the presence of a completely normal ophthalmologic exam..... Persistent flashes of light could be a neurological condition called ophthalmic migraine. Seek out a second opinion to confirm the diagnosis and rule out a retinal condition.
