.period: You maybe peri-menopausal just that your period may alter over the next year or so A heavy period at this time is probably nothing to worry about it If it persists next period or does not stop I would see my physician

Evaluation: You are probably not ovulating, which is allowing the lining to thicken up significantly enough to cause heavy and/or prolonged bleeding. If you're using a larger pad and tampon then your blood loss is significant. You may need to have some hormone therapy or if you're done with childbearing an ablation.
