Not normal: This is one of those situations where our periods run our lives. This is not only annoying but could signify another process in place. This does not always mean cancer, but who can live like that?! Head to your gyno to get this checked out and hopefully fixed.

Needs further eval: This is concerning, and warrants further evaluation. You should see your doctor as soon as possible, since it is not usual to have this much bleeding with a normal menstrual cycle. It may be just dysfunctional uterine bleeding, which is related to hormone levels, but other serious etiologies such as ectopic pregnancies, fibroids, and cancer are just several of the other possibilities.
