Symptoms & Tests: 1st off, you must quit smoking. Poisoning yourself and expecting to stay healthy doesn't make any sense. Regarding heart function, if you easily get chest pain, palpitations, or shortness of breath, those are bad signs. EKGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests can measure heart function. Blood tests such lipids, homocysteine, ferritin, c-reative protein, Lp(a) can also give you an idea about risk.
