A Leg Up On YourPain: Any swelling in the legs accompanied by sharp chest pains should be taken seriously. How, you ask, are the two connected? Well, if a clot forms in the leg, the leg will swell-- and if part of the clot breaks-off it can go into your lung and cause pain, shortness of breath, plus other nasty things. The textbooks describe people prone to this problem. Let your doctor figure it out.
