Can't give advice: without a diagnosis. What if it is not an ovarian cyst? you have to use your judgment: if you feel its an emergency go to urgent care, if not call your doctor's office again and ask if the appointment can be moved up. Good wishes.

Ibuprofen may help: The pain from an ovarian cyst is often due to inflammation related to the expansion of the cyst. Antiinflammatories, like ibuprofen, can help-as long as you are able to take them. Warm compresses over the area that hurts may help.If you have never had pain like this before, though, you should be seen by a doctor before trying self-treatment. Other more serious problems can feel similar.

Yes, need eval: If you are having continuing pelvic or abdominal pain, lasting a day or more, it is best to have a doctor evaluate what is going on. You may be correct, that it is an ovarian cyst, but if might be something else that requires more urgent treatment. You may be given a pain killer in the end, but the correct diagnosis needs to be made first. Go on in!
