About

Bio

I am board certified in emergency medicine and practiced for approximately 13 years before specializing in the field of venous and lymphatic medicine. I am now also a diplomat of the American college and lymphatic medicine. When I am not working, i love to spend time playing sports, hiking, crafting and spending time with family.

Specialties
Doctors may have more than one area of specialty interest. Board certification in a specialty area means the doctor has completed formal training and has practice experience in that specialty, and has passed the certification examination from the corresponding accredited medical specialty board.

Should get checked: PVC's can be 'felt' or not noticed at all. People can feel 'pain', a 'flutter','pressure' or describe PVC related sensations in different ways. Without having a heart monitor on while the pain happened, we can't say for sure if your chest pain was from a PVC or something else. It is always better to have chest pain checked out with your doctor. Dizziness after is also concerning.

Look for root cause : People experience GERD differently, so there is no definite answer for how long it will last for you. Looking for and 'fixing' the underlying cause of your 'GERD' will go a long way in fixing the problem for good. Try sleeping with your head propped up. Work on decreasing stress and avoiding foods that can cause inflammation(different foods for different people). Alcohol/smoking also avoid.

Hydrate hydrate!: Everyone is different as far as how dehydrated they will get under different conditions and how acclimated you may or may not be to those conditions. Under normal situations 48-64oz of water a day is necessary for most adults to stay properly hydrated. If you are in extreme heat, adding an electrolyte solution (Gatorade like) is a good idea. Drink enough that you urinate several times a day.
