Fatigue: It is wonderful that you are asking and seeking help for your brother.! He needs a pediatrician's eval - and exam. Yes, inadequate sleep may be a cause...but then, why can he not sleep well? Anxious? Worried? Being bullied? Depressed? Perhaps diet is unbalanced or insufficient - he should be growing / entering a spurt. His hormones are changing. Is he self conscious? Is he picked on in gym

Hard to say: At 13 he needs at least 9-10 hours of sleep /night.More if he is involved in sports/practice or studying hard. A growth spurt can also add to his sleep requirement. If he is not scheduling enough time to get sleep, this may be something you can help him fix quickly. If not, an office visit with history/exam and testing may all be needed to identify the cause.
