A member asked:

Pink dot size of pea on inside of mouth near front teeth roof. biopsy negative for tumor. has not grown in size for 5 years. get surgical removal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No removal: The area you describe is the maxilla. Most lesions that develop that are malignant are either from the minor salivary glands or squamous Ca of the mucosa. They do not appear pink, have a neg. bx and are known to grow over a several month period of time. As such if this is a benign hemangioma or similar lesion, excision leaves a defect which is harder to close then on cheek or floor of mouth.
