Rough Spot: It would depend on what the "rough" spot is. I would see a dentist or an oral surgeon to take a look and give you advice as to the best method of treatment. Thanks for consulting with Healthtap.

Rough spot: What is it, where is it, what caused it. We can't tell over the computer. Ask your Dentist to examine you and give you advice. Referral to an Oral Surgeon may be in order to help identify the cause of your lesion. Once the lesion has been identified, the available courses of treatment can be presented to you. It's important that you have this looked at as soon as possible.
