Norepinephrine: Norepinephrine is one of the neurotransmitters involved in attention, pain perception, heart rate, activation of the "fight or flight" system, and many others. Cymbalta (duloxetine) is a weak NE reuptake inhibitor ... So, in theory, it keeps more NE from being recycled out of the brain. By keeping more NE, the effects of anxiety on the body are decreased (theoretically). Hope that helps & good luck!
