My son poked himself in the eye today with a peice of thin sharp plastic wire, no blood or swelling that i can notice, should i be worried?

Eye injury: He should be seen by his doctor today and if they can't see you then the er. It could be something simple as a corneal abrasion to a laceration.

See an eye doc...: Rarely, a small puncture wound can occur with little or no outward signs of trauma, especially with a small thin object.
