Carry on: Normal skin layer not required, he has already beat a lot of odds and normal skin is not required for normal life. Skin grafts may be consideration but not normal skin and expensive and not without risk. He may need to see a counselor to discuss many issues or just discuss with surgeon who does skin grafts.
