Blood flow: Facial flushing is common in acute illness and doesn't require a fever. It reflects increased blood flow triggered by the adrenaline rush that occurs when the body is fighting infection. A cool compress might help you feel better. Hope you feel well soon.

DIlatation: Often with infections people get flushed feelings from capillary dilatation even without fever. Your body temperature may rise only slightly but may still be within normal limits, but your pulse(heart rate) May be slightly fast. All these are reactions to toxic substances and chemical agents released during infection.
