To destroy DNA: oWhen Memorial Hosp formed in Central Park they treated advanced cervix cancer using Curies RT approach. This was before chemo was introduced by Karnofsky using nitogen mustard to produce similar respnses by DNA tumor destruction. When lesions are too large for resection gamma RT now employed alone or with chemo to convert to operability or improve survival in RT responsive lesions.
