Are polyps the same as colon cancer? after the doctor takes them out, does a person need chemo or radiation? can they grow back?

The : The majority of polyps are not cancer. They are benign. Many are completely harmless. Others can grow into bigger polyps, which are called adenomatous polyps. Colonoscopy will remove all polyps. If not removed, these bigger polyps have the potential to develop into cancer. Your doctor would have discussed that with you if cancer were found during your colonoscopy.

Polyps are benign: But they have e potential to develop into colon cancer if they are not removed, depending on their size and type. Mthey are not cancer, but precancerous on occasion. Thus, no additional therapy is needed following their removal.
