Let her chew: Chewing on something cold and firm is helpful. One idea is to give them a damp washcloth that as been frozen in the freezer to chew on. Commercial teeth rings that can be frozen are available as well. Teething is a normal process. I would avoid medication like painkillers unless absolutely necessary. Most babies really don't need them.

Teething management: Rub the affected gum, safe objects to chew on and OTC pain relief medicine (Adol, NSAID or Tylenol). Always ask a pediatrician before giving any medicine to a child.

It hurts: And it's so frustrating for parents not to be able to provide immediate relief. Baby will be fussy, drool, out of sorts, off their sleep pattern. Gently rub the gums with a clean finger tip. Give baby a cool chewable object, such as a freezable teething ring or a moistened washcloth that has been frozen. Check with Pediatrician, but children's Motrin (ibuprofen) may help. Best thing is tincture of time.
