Need more info: If you are referring to your knee, it depends on the severity and location of the tears, the cause (trauma vs degenerative), and if they are affecting your joint stability (causing locking or buckling). If you have a meniscal tear that was only causing pain, which has resolved, you may be able to avoid or delay surgery. I would suggest speaking with your orthopedic surgeon or get 2nd opinion.
