Re-expansion & time: The standard/safest/best-outcome is to either monitor/wait, if small, or ↓the air volume around the lung (pneumothorax) using a chest tube connected to ~10 cm water pressure ↓ atmospheric pressure. The tear will usually hear & seal as a part of usual healthy lung tear-down & repair. If this does not occur, then surgery to find & suture the leak closed (more complex/hazardous); ↓ lung size ↑scaring
