Recently got my ears pierced and it is itchy around the piercing. the skin is also flaking off. is this normal?

Allergic reaction: You may have an allergic reaction to the metal in the posts used for the piercing. Most often this is due to nickle. Change to a different type of ear ring. If you have any swelling or discharge, you should see your doctor for a possible infection.

Skin: YOu may have an allergy to the piercing you have in. Sounds like eczema. You could try some hydrocortisone cream but if no change, see a MD.
