Yes!: Children and adults with adhd often have normal iqs but they lack the ability to focus on and carry through tasks, especially those that do not interest them. Excessive talking, procrastination, and "forgetfulness" are also part of the diagosis. They may appear to slack or be called "lazy" when this is not the case at all. Have your doctor screen for the disorder and make a referral if needed.

Yes, if her behavior: Harmfully impacts her daily functioning, obtain vanderbilt parent & teacher rating scales from her pediatrician for diagnostic evaluation for adhd & comorbid disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression, learning disabilities or oppositional-defiant disorder).
